Training for bilingual individuals to develop awareness, knowledge, and skills necessary for effective language interpretation in various settings. Emphasis on the standards of practice of a healthcare interpreter, active listening, memory development, basic knowledge of common medical conditions, treatments, diagnostics and procedures, cultural and linguistic competency in the art of interpretation.

Instructor I - State Fire Trng

Provides the skills and knowledge needed for entry level professional instructor to perform his or her duties, safely, effectively, and competently. Follows National Fire Protection Association 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor. Also, meets partial requirements for Instructor 1 and Company Officer, California State Fire Marshal Office, State Fire Training Meets minimum requirement for San Francisco Fire Department for Training Instructor at the Division of Training (DOT).

ESL for Job Search B

Development of intermediate English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills that support a successful job search for non-native English-speaking students. Emphasis is on the English required to describe job qualifications and successfully network and interview for jobs. This is the second of two courses in the ESL job search series.
