Ethno-Social Justice

Using the lens of social justice, this class will explore basic concepts and theories for analyzing dynamics of ethnic group experiences, particularly those represented in California, and their relation to colonization, immigration, gender, problems of identity, racism, and social class.

High School Geometry 1A

A first course in high school geometry. Topics include point, lines, and planes; classification of angles; triangles and the Pythagorean theorem; classifications of polygons; perimeters and areas of polygons; circumference and area of circles; surface areas and volumes of three-dimensional shapes.

Intellectual Property

This course focuses on the principles of intellectual property law in trademarks, copyrights, and patents including international conventions and the difference between ideas and expression of ideas, fair-use doctrine, trade secrets, and the notion of public domain.

Sports in Society

This course encourages students to discuss sports issues and analyze sports as a part of our society, ranging from youth leagues to professional sports. Examine the history of sports, its place in society, and its cultural links to race, gender, politics, economics, deviance, aggression, drug use, media, and social mobility.
