Introduction to Theatre

This course focuses on the relationship of theatre to various cultures throughout history, and on the contributions of significant individual artists. This course introduces students to elements of the production process including playwriting, acting, directing, design and criticism. Different periods, styles, and genres will be surveyed.

Emphasis on developing advanced academic sentence structure in Spanish, and

Designed for bilingual/heritage students who are effective in oral communication in Spanish within their communities, but have insufficient formal training in written forms of the Spanish language. Emphasis on increasing vocabulary, reading and writing skills through essays and guided compositions.

Intensive review of grammar, composition and translation. Emphasis on sufficient control of language (vocabulary, structures, conventions of spoken and written language) to understand fully and with ease a variety of more complex texts that have a clear, organized structure.
