Introduction to structure, function, evolution, classification and ecology of plants. Topics include life history plants, levels of organization, metabolism, form and function, and a survey of major taxa (including fungi and photosynthetic protists). Laboratory exercises are coordinated with lecture topics and may include field exercises.
This hybrid class is part of CityOnline and is 17.5 weeks. BIO 12 requires in-person laboratory meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meetings will take place on Wednesdays from 2:10 pm – 5:00 pm at Ocean Campus. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device.
