Prepares students for Community Health Worker (CHW) positions in the health and social service fields. The course emphasizes skill development in areas such as cultural humility and client-centered assessment, health education and counseling.
This class requires in-person meetings, live online meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meetings will require a face mask and will take place on Saturdays from 9am-1pm at Ocean Campus on the following dates: 2/17, 3/23, 4/20, and 5/18. Live online meetings take place on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:40-7:30pm and require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device.
