This course offers an examination of the history of alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. From a public health perspective, students will analyze drug policies and their impact on the health of culturally diverse, marginalized, and low income communities. Students will also develop skills to advocate for policy change.
This class requires in-person meetings and the use of Canvas. Coursework on Canvas starts prior to the first in-person meeting.
In-person meetings will take place on select Tuesdays: 10/1, 10/22, 11/05, 11/19, 12/10, 12/17 from 4:10PM - 8:25PM at Ocean Campus. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. This class is part of CityOnline and is 12 weeks.
