Critical approaches to social, legal, and political problems are studied through oral argument and debate. Analysis, evidence, reasoning, ethics, rhetorical power and persuasion from a communication studies perspective.
This class requires live online meetings and the use of Canvas with no required in-person meetings. Live online meetings require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device with a camera and microphone. Students will complete coursework in Canvas and arrange times to meet via CityZoom with the instructor and fellow classmates to present speeches. This class is part of CityOnline and is 16 weeks.
