CCSF Mammography Course
The CCSF Mammography Course provides radiography (R) technologists, certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), an opportunity to further their radiologic science careers toward a specialty in Mammography. This course provides the Structured Educational Requirements in Mammography as required by both the ARRT and Radiologic Health Branch of the California Department of Public Health.
The CCSF Mammography Course does not provide the Clinical Experience Requirements needed to earn the ARRT Mammography credential as clinical experience opportunities are not offered.
This in-person didactic course meets once weekly in the evening for one academic semester. Upon successfully completing the CCSF Mammography Course, technologists will have received the Structured Educational Requirements needed for the post-primary ARRT Mammography Examination administered by the ARRT. Additionally, upon successfully completing this course, technologists can apply to take the California State Mammographic Radiologic Technology examination. After passing the California State Mammographic Radiologic Technology examination, technologists may practice mammography in California and complete the Clinical Experience Requirements as needed by the ARRT for certification and registration in Mammography, ARRT(M). The CCSF Mammography Course does not offer clinical experience opportunities.
