Amer Sign Lang Yr I

This course is for students with no prior knowledge or minimal skills in American Sign Language (ASL). The course is designed primarily to develop students' receptive and expressive skills in ASL in functional settings. Students will be introduced to general historical factors that have contributed to American Deaf culture and the development of American Sign Language.

Comics, Power, and Society

An introduction to the social sciences using the medium of comic books, graphic novels, and sequential art-related media illustrating central social science concepts. Examination of power, powerlessness, and superpower. Past and present impact on a diverse American society by comic books, graphic novels, sequential art, and animation as artistic expressions and representations of socio-political issues.

Patrol Procedures

This course provides vocational application of the principles taught within the Administration of Justice curriculum. This course is designed to help prepare students for satisfactory completion of the placement requirements for service within the San Francisco City College Campus Police Department and/or other law enforcement agencies.

Introduction to ADMJ

A critical thinking exploration of historical and contemporary issues in criminal justice. Study and analysis of the core principles and components of the American criminal justice system (police, courts, and corrections), the evolution of criminal justice, criminal behavior theory, crime categories, policing models, challenges in policing, and career opportunities.
