Elementary Sign Language

This is a course for the student with no prior or minimal skills in and knowledge of AMSL. The course is designed primarily to develop the students' receptive skills in functional settings. Everyday communication emphasizing vocabulary, syntax, and fingerspelling to enable students to communicate with Deaf individuals in a culturally appropriate manner.

Cont. of Intermediate French

Intermediate French 4 is a continuation of FREN2/2B. It includes in-depth review of French grammar and expansion of the five language skills (writing, reading, listening, speaking, and culture). It is designed to help students improve their communicative skills at an advanced intermediate level. The course is conducted in French and covers the use of the subjunctive mood to express opinions and the vocabulary needed to discuss social classes among other themes.

Mid-Intermediate Chinese

Mid-intermediate training in written and spoken Mandarin with emphasis on reading, speaking, and composition. Linguistic ability in both English and Chinese are used as a basis for increasing vocabulary and enhancing reading and writing skills through short stories, poems, and compositions.
