City College of San Francisco welcomes International Students from throughout the world. Our Office of International Programs encompass the Academic and Institute for International Students (aka Intensive English Program). There are currently over 1200 students from 90 countries studying at our various campuses. Their presence complements a broad mosaic of multi-ethnic students from San Francisco. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service has authorized City College of San Francisco under federal regulations to enroll qualified non-immigrant students. Each semester the College admits international students without reference to a quota. City College of San Francisco is fully accredited by ACCJC, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. The Institute for International Students, and intensive English program is also supported by AAIEP, the American Association of Intensive English Programs.

International Students who need to request one of the following: OPT, RCL, or I-20 Program Extension

  1. Visit the Office of International Program (OIP) located in Cloud Hall 212
  2. An OIP classified staff will assist with scheduling a counseling appointment
  3. Meet with a counselor to complete required documentation
  4. After your counseling session, submit documentation and any supporting paperwork to OIP in Cloud Hall 212

International Students who need support with Academic Counseling Services such as, but not limited to: Educational Planning, Career Planning (MUB 101), Transfer questions, Graduation: Degree/Certificate questions, Probation, or Other counseling needs, please visit one of our counseling office:

  • Multicultural Retention Services (e.g. APASS, LSN, etc.)
  • Educational Centers (e.g. Downtown, Chinatown, etc.)
  • Transfer Center (for appointments, call 415-239-3748)
  1. A classified staff will assist with scheduling a counseling appointment
  2. Meet with a counselor to discuss and develop your educational plan
  3. Follow-up with your counselor if additional questions, resources or support is needed for your success at CCSF
