The mission of the Homeless At-Risk Transitional Students Program is to remove barriers to academic success for students who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing housing insecurity.
We provide student-centered support:
- Priority course registration
- Academic advisement/counseling
- Meal voucher program
- Supplemental textbook assistance
- Discounted monthly transportation passes
- On-campus shower access
- Clothing closet
- Computer lab with limited free printing
- Annual Pacific Bell Stepping Stone Scholarship award
- Needs assessments for resource and service referrals
- Provide information on local homeless service providers
- Assist with accessing a 90 day shelter bed
- Access point to the Food Shelf pilot program
- Housing leads when available
- Provide a trauma informed safe space on campus where services are delivered in ways that nurture community and facilitate a sense of belonging
