Office of the Chancellor

Dear Faculty, Classified Staff and Administrative Staff Colleagues:

Welcome Back!

I hope you had a well-deserved rest over the spring break. It was wonderful to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather this past weekend. This comes with my warmest best wishes for a great day and great rest of the semester.

I know you head back to your classes and offices with renewed enthusiasm because we all do have the best work anyone could have: helping to change students’ lives for the better through a CCSF education. I had a little time over the break to visit with some alumni who have graduated and are working successfully. They asked me to convey their gratitude for what CCSF had given them.

Believe it or not, there are only six weeks of classes to final exams! I know you will do everything you can to make sure all of your students, especially those who plan to graduate in May, complete successfully.

This also comes with my personal invitation to join me at Commencement on Friday, May 24, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Davies Symphony Hall. During the ceremony, I have the honor of publicly recognizing and thanking all of our faculty, staff and administrators for the work you have done all year.

And of course, this year we have many colleagues who are retiring. So please save the date for a special Recognition Luncheon sponsored by the Board of Trustees: Tuesday, May 14th, 12:00 Noon, Smith Cafeteria.

Final Comment

Today we are thankful to gather again and to be back in session. There really is no better work to have than to help our students realize their dreams. I see the good work you are doing to help each one of our students and I am grateful. Keep up the great work.

Who knows? Now that spring has sprung and the baseball season is still young, we even hope for a great year for the Giants. And that’s no April Fools!

With sincere thanks,

Dr. Mark Rocha, Chancellor
City College of San Francisco
