City College Board of Trustees Approve a Vaccine Mandate Resolution
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – On Thursday, August 12, at the Board of Trustees Board Budget and Audit Committee of the Whole, a Vaccine Mandate Resolution was adopted. A comprehensive plan will be presented at the Board of Trustees meeting on August 26, 2021.
For the opening of the Fall Semester next week, CCSF will continue to follow CDC Guidelines for fully unvaccinated institutions of higher learning. This means masks will be required to be worn by all when on CCSF property and social distancing adhered to, irrespective of vaccination status.
Board President Shanell Williams expressed:
“With the increased spread of COVID, the Board feels it is important we set a policy that is in line with our City and County .”
CCSF increased its in-person offerings to 25% for the Fall semester and is looking forward to welcoming more students to its various campuses throughout the City.
Interim Chancellor Dianna Gonzales added:
“Throughout this pandemic we have proceeded with caution in order to protect our students and all of our employees. We are preparing to implement a phased mandate, which is not prescriptive, but one that is flexible enough to accommodate exemptions and allows us to continue with our mission of providing a quality education to our diverse communities while protecting the health and safety of our students and employees.”
