An introduction to the roles and core competencies of Community Health Workers (CHW) and the requirements of the CCSF CHW Certificate Program. Students will learn key public health concepts and models for providing person-centered services, and assess their readiness and interest in the CHW Certificate Program.
This class requires in-person meetings, live online meetings and the use of Canvas. Live online meetings take place on Mondays from 5:40pm-7pm and require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device. In-person meetings take place on Wednesdays from 5:40pm-8pm at Ocean Campus. This class is part of CityOnline and is 4 weeks.
