Introduction to structure, function, evolution, classification and ecology of plants. Topics include life history plants, levels of organization, metabolism, form and function, and a survey of major taxa (including fungi and photosynthetic protists). Laboratory exercises are coordinated with lecture topics and may include field exercises.
This hybrid class is a 16 week course. BIO 12 requires in-person laboratory meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meetings will take place on Wednesdays from 2:10 pm – 5:00 pm at Ocean Campus. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. For course details, students must check the instructor's website.
