This course will address the history of photography from its invention until 1945. Included are discussions and illustrated lectures of the lives and achievements of important photographers and processes of the time. Students visit museums to view photographs and participate in class discussions.
PHOT 50B-Sec 931 covers H&A of Photo pre-1945. This class requires use of Canvas with no required in-person meetings. Students will complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet-enabled device, Spell check capabilities needed. This class is part of CityOnline and is 17.5 weeks. For student support and other services, students can check Welcome to CityOnline. Students may use the computer lab in the CCSF PHOTO department or CCSF Library.
