Introduction to computers for intermediate-level ESL students. Overview of English terminology used in computer and digital applications: word processing software, the internet, email, spreadsheets, and digital platforms. ESL reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills are developed through a variety of projects and interactive work.
This course is part of the two-semester ESL Vocational Office Training Program (VOTP). Application to the program begins in mid-November or mid-April. Fully Online Class (on Canvas & Zoom): This 9-week class, 1/13/25-3/14/25, is part of CityOnline, which requires the use of Canvas and Zoom. Students complete coursework and communicate with their teacher and classmates online through Canvas. Live online class meetings via Zoom are scheduled as stated in the class schedule, using an internet-enabled device such as a computer or smartphone. Internet access is required.
