Catalog Description

Introductory Ethnic Studies examination of United States history and government through the experience of immigrant groups from China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and India. Topics include immigration experiences, economic opportunities, culture, family, community, and political and social history. Local field trip may be required.

ASAM 20 will require a live Online 2 hour Final Exam with the use of Canvas (not Zoom), the student will choose either Saturday 5/17 10am-12pm; Monday 5/19 7-9pm; Wednesday 5/14 12:30-2:30pm. Except for this Online 2 hour Final, the rest of the class is asynchronous. This class requires use of Canvas with no required in-person meetings. Students will complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet-enabled device. All students welcome. Meets CSU GE: US1, D, F, transfer and graduation requirements, including IGETC 4C, IGETC 7. This class is part of CityOnline and has a shorter 16 week semester. This class is part of CityOnline .
