American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with AED certification course. Instruction and practice in the identification and the care of cardiac arrest and choking in adults, children, and infants. AHA BLS Provider cards issued for those who meet competency standards.
EMT 12 requires in-person meetings and the use of Canvas. The in-person meeting will take place on Friday, 11/15/24 at the John Adams Campus between the hours of 9:10am and 6:20pm. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. Students will be contacted by the instructor and provided with a HeartCode link to complete the AHA lessons and test. The students will receive a certificate after completion of the AHA test and must bring the certificate to the 11/15/24 in-person competency check-off at their scheduled time. Only students who complete the AHA lessons, test, and competency checkoff can receive the BLS CPR card. The student's account will be charged $5.00 for the cost of the BLS CPR card.
